Suunto's mountain ambassador overcame stiff competition and difficult weather to win the 2008 World Mountain Running Trophy in Crans Mountain, Switzerland giving him six career titles.
Crossing the finish line with a time of 55:04, Jonathan Wyatt walked away from the 24th annual World Mountain Running Championship with his sixth career title in the event. Wyatt used a late charge to pull ahead of second and third place finishers Martin Toroitich and Ahmet Arsian to win by 13 seconds.
Generally know for his ability to fly up hillsides, Wyatt faced a Crans Mountain trail in Switzerland that was filled with long downgrades and multiple flat spots that did not play to his strengths.
"It wasn't a good track for me," Wyatt said in discussing his ability to bide his time throughout the race. "The longest uphill section was in the last 3km and I had to wait until then to make my move."

With temperatures near 55°F at the start, competitors had to battle cloudy, wet conditions throughout the day. As one of the most experienced runners in the sport, the 35-year-old Wyatt used the conditions to his advantage to pull away from the pack.
"This conditions actually helped me," said Wyatt, referring to the condition on the trail. "It was slippery and very wet which helped me against the track and road runners."
When competing and training, Jonathan Wyatt wears the Suunto t6c heart rate monitor. The t6c helps Wyatt perform at his peak throughout the grueling trail running season. The Suunto t6c allows its users to monitor their workout intensity with features like real-time Training Effect and Excess Post-exercise Oxygen Consumption (EPOC) in addition to comprehensive physiological analysis on PC's, an altimeter for hill/altitude training and speed and distance and cycling cadence.
